...Tornado damage in Indiana is widespread and will be more closely 

investigated Saturday...



The National Weather Service will be flying with the Indiana 

National guard and state emergency management agency Saturday to 

investigate the damage paths and tornado intensities. Ground based 

damage surveys will also be conducted Saturday based on aerial 

surveys. Reports on the tornado paths and intensities should be 

available from the National Weather Service by late Saturday 

afternoon.      



Preliminary reports to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis 

indicate that one or several tornadoes occurred in southwest and 

central Indiana this Friday afternoon. 



Damage was reported from southwest Indiana near Vincennes to near 

Bloomington...through the Indianapolis area...Anderson and north of 

Muncie. Some minor injuries have been reported but no word of 

fatalities as of 415 PM.
